A new patient dermatology medical visit is for patients establishing care or seeking help with common concerns such as acne, rosacea, eczema and hair loss. We take your history, examine the area that concerns you and build a plan, which can include prescriptions where appropriate and in-office treatments.

Sangini has practiced cosmetic and medical dermatology since 2004. In the office she can inject inflamed acne and raised scars such as keloids, perform extractions and remove benign lesions like skin tags, cherry angiomas, seborrheic keratoses and dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN). We are a self-pay practice and do not participate with or bill insurance.

How it works

Medical dermatology

Evaluation and treatment for common skin concerns, from acne and eczema to hair loss and skin tags.

Our new patient dermatology medical visit is for patients establishing care or seeking evaluation and treatment of common dermatologic concerns, including acne, rosacea, eczema and hair loss. Sangini has practiced cosmetic and medical dermatology since 2004.

In-office treatments

  • Inflamed acne and scar injection: a steroid injection to calm deep, inflamed acne and soften raised scars such as keloids and hypertrophic scars
  • Extractions: mild, moderate or severe, to clear congested skin
  • Benign lesion removal: cautery or snip removal of skin tags, cherry angiomas, seborrheic keratoses and dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN)
  • Follow-ups: established-patient visits to check progress and adjust your plan

What we do not provide. We do not offer skin cancer screenings, full-body skin examinations, evaluation of suspicious moles, urgent dermatologic care or general medical services. We are a self-pay practice and do not participate with or bill insurance.

Your appointment

What to expect

  1. 01

    New patient visit

We review your history, current products and medications, and examine the concern you came in for.

  2. 02

    Your plan

We explain what is going on and recommend a plan, which may include prescriptions, medical-grade skin care or in-office treatment.

  3. 03

    In-office treatment

Where appropriate, we offer steroid injections for inflamed acne and raised scars, extractions and benign lesion removal by cautery or snip.

  4. 04

    Follow-up

Established-patient follow-ups let us check progress and adjust your plan, since many skin conditions take weeks to respond.

Downtime

Most visits involve no downtime, and lesion removal or injections may leave a small mark or mild redness that usually heals within days to a couple of weeks.

Results

It depends on the concern: an injected breakout often calms within a few days and lesion removal shows once the area heals, while acne, rosacea and eczema typically improve over weeks on a consistent plan.

Consultation

$150, fully credited toward any services booked.

Reviews

In their words

★★★★★

“Laura is the best aesthetician I have worked with; she is incredibly knowledgeable, gets to the root causes and has the best energy, warm, caring and results oriented. I'd say Laura is a skin expert, with a special expertise in angry, troubled skin and the after effects (scarring, hyperpigmentation, etc.).”

Medical dermatology questions

Still deciding? Call or text (312) 833-9004.

What does medical dermatology at LIV not include?

We do not provide skin cancer screenings, full-body skin examinations, evaluation of suspicious moles, urgent dermatologic care or general medical services. For any of these, please see a board-certified dermatologist or your primary care provider.

Do you accept insurance for dermatology visits?

No. We are a self-pay practice and do not participate with or bill insurance, so pricing is clear before you book.

How much does skin tag or benign lesion removal cost?

Benign lesion removal by cautery or snip is priced by the number of lesions, and we confirm it before we start. It covers skin tags, cherry angiomas, seborrheic keratoses and DPN.

Can you treat a painful cyst or a keloid scar?

Yes. A steroid injection can calm a deep, inflamed acne lesion and soften raised scars such as keloids and hypertrophic scars. We assess the area first to confirm it is a good fit.
