About Acne
Why patients choose LIV
- Best for
- Clogged pores, breakouts, adult acne
- Approach
- Prescriptions, peels and lasers
- Starts with
- A skin analysis
- Goal
- Long-term clear skin
Acne can look like clogged pores and blackheads, red inflamed breakouts or a mix of both, and adult and hormonal acne are very common. Each type responds to different treatment, so your plan starts with a careful skin analysis and a look at your routine and triggers.
Sangini has treated acne in medical dermatology for 22 years and can prescribe where appropriate. Aesthetician Laura Memishi has a particular skill with angry, troubled skin through facials and extractions, and VI Peels, microneedling and lasers help fade marks once breakouts calm. Skin health comes first in the Sangini Method, and for many patients acne is where it starts.
Good for
- Clogged pores and blackheads
- Inflamed breakouts
- Adult and hormonal acne
- Post-acne marks and pigment
- Texture and scarring once acne is controlled
How it works
Acne to clear skin
Treating the root cause, not just the breakout in front of you.
Successful acne treatment isn't just about eliminating pimples: it's about treating the root cause. That's why we take a holistic, science-backed approach that minimizes triggers and supports long-term skin health.
Acne shows up in different forms, including:
- Comedonal acne: clogged pores and blackheads
- Inflamed acne: red, swollen breakouts
- Combination acne: a mix of both
- Rosacea-related breakouts
Acne can be frustrating, but clear skin is possible with the right approach. We build a custom plan that can combine prescriptions, medical-grade products, peels and lasers.

Reviews
In their words
★★★★★
“Now, 6 months later my skin tone, texture, and overall appearance is the best it has ever been in my adult life and that's all thanks to Sangini and her team. Since getting my acne under control I have also done botox and skin resurfacing lasers and have no complaints! She is someone who genuinely cares not only of the aesthetics she achieves but the overall wellbeing of her patients.”
★★★★★
“Laura is the best aesthetician I have worked with; she is incredibly knowledgeable, gets to the root causes and has the best energy, warm, caring and results oriented. I'd say Laura is a skin expert, with a special expertise in angry, troubled skin and the after effects (scarring, hyperpigmentation, etc.).”
★★★★★
“Sangini is amazing for injectables: knowledgeable, skilled, and really takes the time to make sure everything looks natural and tailored to you. Laura is incredible for facials. As someone with acne-prone skin, I'm pretty picky, and she is the best I've found... You can tell they're passionate about what they do and focused on results, not just "cashing in."”
Can you prescribe acne medication?
Yes. As a medical practice, we can prescribe acne treatments where appropriate, alongside medical-grade products.
What helps acne scars once breakouts stop?
Microneedling, Morpheus8, VI Peels and certain lasers can soften marks and texture. We usually treat active acne first.
How long before my acne improves?
Most plans take several weeks to show change, and it is normal to adjust along the way. Consistency matters more than any single product.
How much does an acne treatment plan cost?
It depends on which prescriptions, products and in-clinic treatments your skin needs, so we price your plan at consultation. The $150 consultation fee for new consultations is fully credited toward services booked.
