About Filler dissolving

Why patients choose LIV

Best for
Overfilled, lumpy or migrated filler
Works on
Hyaluronic acid fillers only
Results
Often within hours to a couple of days
Downtime
Minimal, some swelling or bruising

Hylenex is a form of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane and Juvéderm. It can dissolve filler that is overcorrected, uneven, lumpy or has moved from where it was placed, either fully or just enough to rebalance the area.

Sangini has an eye for proportion built over 22 years, and many patients come to her to correct filler done elsewhere. If your original treatment was not performed at LIV, an evaluation is required before treatment so she can understand what was placed and plan the safest approach. Once the area settles, she can rebuild a softer, more balanced result if you want one.

Good for

  • Overfilled or puffy lips
  • Lumps, bumps or uneven filler
  • Filler that has migrated
  • Puffiness or a bluish tint under the eyes from filler
  • Correcting filler done at another practice
  • Starting fresh before a new, balanced treatment

How it works

Hylenex filler dissolving

Corrects or dissolves hyaluronic acid filler that is overfilled, uneven or out of place.

Hylenex is a form of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane and Juvéderm. We use it to correct or adjust filler results, including dissolving filler that is unwanted or overcorrected, either fully or just enough to rebalance the area.

  • Overfilled lips: soften or reset a look that went too far
  • Lumps and unevenness: smooth filler that settled unevenly
  • Migration: clear filler that has moved from where it was placed
  • Under-eye puffiness: correct filler that looks puffy or bluish

Hylenex does not dissolve biostimulators like Sculptra or Radiesse. Filler done elsewhere? If your original treatment was not performed at LIV, an evaluation is required before treatment.

Your appointment

What to expect

  1. 01

    Evaluation

We review your filler history and examine the area. If your filler was placed elsewhere, this evaluation is required before treatment.

  2. 02

    Plan

Sangini decides whether to dissolve the filler fully or partially and how much Hylenex to use.

  3. 03

    Treatment

Hylenex is placed with small injections into the area. Most appointments are quick.

  4. 04

    Review

We check the result once swelling settles and plan any refill only when your true baseline is clear.

Downtime

Minimal: some swelling, redness or bruising at the injection sites for a day or a few days, with most people back to normal routines right away.

Results

Hylenex often starts working within hours to a couple of days, and some areas need a second session for a full correction.

Consultation

$150, fully credited toward any services booked.

Reviews

In their words

★★★★★

“I had my lips previously done that left them uneven and bumpy weeks before my wedding. Sangini was able to dissolve them and fill them perfectly so they looked more plump, but also very natural for my wedding. I always have minimal bruising and minimal post op discomfort. She also does an excellent job on my Botox. I wouldn't go anywhere else.”

Filler dissolving questions

Still deciding? Call or text (312) 833-9004.

Can you dissolve filler I had done somewhere else?

Yes. If your original treatment was not done at LIV, we require an evaluation first so we can understand what was placed and plan a safe correction.

Does Hylenex work on all fillers?

No. It only works on hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm. It does not dissolve biostimulators like Sculptra, Radiesse or Bellafil.

How soon can I have filler again after dissolving?

We wait until swelling has settled and we can see your true baseline. Sangini will tell you when it is safe to refill and whether you need as much as before.

How much does filler dissolving cost?

It depends on the area and how much filler needs to be dissolved, and we confirm pricing at your evaluation. The $150 consultation fee for new consultations is fully credited toward services booked.
